I work the overnight sanitation shift at a food plant out on the east side, and for two years I counted on the overtime. After the reorg in late January they moved our crew to four tens and the overtime just evaporated. I didn't see it coming and my next check is going to be about $310 short of what I usually bring home. My hearing aids take size 312 batteries and I go through a pair every three or four days. I called the audiology office over on the west side and they quoted me $140 for a three-month supply, which is actually cheaper than buying the four-packs at the pharmacy, but I can't cover it until I get paid again on the 14th. I already checked with my insurance and batteries aren't covered, and I asked the front desk about a payment plan and they said no. If you can help, I can meet you this weekend pretty much anywhere in the north loop, or I can do a porch pickup. I'll send you a photo of the receipt the same day, and I'll pay it back out of my next two checks, $70 each. I've done this once before on here for a bus pass and paid it back ahead of schedule.

Sign in to view →I work the overnight shift cleaning at a casino on the south end of the Strip, or I did until three weeks ago when they cut the whole crew and told us to reapply in the fall. My SNAP application has been sitting in limbo since the 14th because they need a copy of my birth certificate and the only one I had got lost when I moved out of my ex's place in March. I spent two days at the health district office and they want $28 just to pull the record, plus I still owe the county $72 from a court fee back in January that's blocking the paperwork from clearing. So I need $100 total to cover both, and once the benefits card hits I can put $40 a week toward groceries without sweating whether the power stays on. I've already sold my bike and the TV, asked two cousins and my old landlord, and got maybe $15 between them. Anything helps, even part of it, and I'll come back and post the approval letter so you know it wasn't wasted. I can pay it forward at the food pantry on Charleston once I'm back on my feet, they always need hands on Saturday mornings.

Sign in to view →I was laid off from my warehouse job in early February and have been applying nonstop since. Last week I finally got an offer at a distribution center over by the industrial park, but it's contingent on a background check and I have to cover the fee myself, $290, before they'll put me on the schedule. I already tried to get it waived through the hiring office, but they said it's a third-party vendor and they can't. I also called my old staffing agency to see if I could pick up anything short-term, and nothing's open right now. On top of that, my insurance denied a routine claim from January, so instead of getting reimbursed like usual I got stuck paying that out of pocket this billing cycle. Nobody at the food pantry or the community center had anything left for this. If you can help with the $290 I can send you the receipt from the vendor and a screenshot of the offer letter. Once I start getting paychecks I'll put the same amount back into the pantry fund at my church.

Sign in to view →I bartend on the riverside blocks and tips have been bone dry for two weeks now. I've got a final-round interview across town Thursday morning and my tank is sitting on empty. I already sold my old bike and scraped together what I could, but I'm still $80 short of what I need for gas to get there and back plus parking. I need this by Wednesday evening if possible since the interview is early. I've already tapped out my circle and don't want to miss this shot after making it this far in the process. If someone can cover the $80, I'll send you the gas receipt and confirm once I'm at the interview. Once I land this job and get my first paycheck, I'll pay it forward to the next person here who needs a hand.

Sign in to view →I got hurt on a shift back in January and thought the insurance would cover the follow-up visit, but the denial letter came three weeks ago and I'm still fighting it. I work temp jobs around the community college side of town, mostly warehouse and catering shifts, but the last two weeks have been dead and I already sold my guitar to cover rent. What's left in my account is $14 and change. I need $330 to get groceries for me and my mom, who I take care of, plus bus fare to get to interviews. I tried the food bank over on Manor but the line was past the parking lot and they were out by the time I got to the front. I also applied for SNAP but the interview isn't until the 14th. I'll send a photo of the receipt from H-E-B and confirm here once groceries are bought. Once I get back on a shift, I'll pay it forward to whoever's next in line on this board.

Sign in to view →I live in Grand Rapids near the downtown transit hub, and my roommate moved out about three weeks ago with zero warning, so the whole rent and grocery load is on me now. I get paid at my part-time gig, but the check doesn't clear until Friday. What brought me here is dumber and simpler: I got the flu right after she left, spent five days mostly in bed, and burned through everything in the pantry because soup and toast was all I could keep down. I've already used the food pantry at a church two blocks over, but they only run Tuesdays and I missed yesterday, and the next one isn't until after my interviews. What I need is about $220 for groceries and a couple of meal kits so I can actually eat real food and not fall apart. Thursday morning I have two in-person interviews, one at a logistics company on the west side, and I can't show up running on saltines. If someone helps, I'll send a photo of the receipt and the bags, then pay it forward the first Friday I get a full check. I can pick up a grocery card in person near the hub or have it ordered for pickup. Thank you for reading this far.

Sign in to view →I work the night shift at a distribution center near the industrial park off Zanker, and last month a garnishment hit my check with no warning I ever saw. I looked through my mail twice, called the payroll office at work, called the county courthouse, and they all pointed me somewhere else. By the time the fourth check came in I was down to about $140 for two weeks after rent and the light bill, and I still owe my sister for covering my car insurance in January. I need $200 for an eye exam and a basic pair of frames, because the lenses I have now are scratched so bad I'm reading labels on the wrong pallets and my supervisor already wrote me up once for it. A coworker said the clinic over on Alum Rock does the exam for about seventy and frames start around a hundred. Anything helps, even half, and I can pay it back in two pieces on the 15th and the 1st. I'll gladly send a photo of the receipt so you know it went where I said.

Sign in to view →I work the night shift at a cold storage warehouse out by the industrial park, and on the 14th of last month they cut everyone's hours mid-pay-period. Went from 40 to 22 just like that. My COBRA runs out at the end of this month and the marketplace plan doesn't kick in until the 1st of next, so every dollar right now is going to keeping the lights on and the premium paid. What I need is about $100 for formula and diapers for my daughter, who just turned seven months. I've already hit the food pantry on Freret twice and called 211, but the diaper bank over in Algiers only does distribution once a month and I missed the window. My neighbor watched the baby Tuesday so I could pick up a shift, so I'm not totally alone out here. If someone can spot me the hundred, I'll go straight to the Walmart on Tchoupitoulas and send a picture of the receipt same day. Next payday I've got a side gig moving furniture, and I'll put that money right back into helping the next person on here.

Sign in to view →I had a job lined up at the Ocean State Care facility on Eddy Street, but when the garnishment hit my account two weeks ago, they cleaned out everything I had set aside. I didn't even get a letter, just woke up to a negative balance and a notice from the court that my old student loan default was finally being collected. I've been picking up shifts through a temp agency but after the wage attachment there's barely enough for rent, let alone anything extra. My interview is Tuesday morning and the only clothes I own that fit are jeans with a hole in the knee and a work polo. I tried the St. Vincent de Paul thrift on Elmwood for a suit but they only had sizes way off from mine, and the Career Closet at the library had nothing in my size either. A $200 voucher to Men's Wearhouse or even a department store clearance would get me slacks, a blazer, and a shirt that don't look borrowed. I can show the interview confirmation email and receipt, and once I'm working regular hours I'll put the first paycheck toward someone else's interview clothes through the same pantry.

Sign in to view →Two weeks ago my paycheck came in at $211 for a full week of work at the produce warehouse on Northwest 72nd Avenue. That's after a garnishment I never got notice of. Turns out a judgment from a dental collection I thought was settled back in 2022 got revived and the city served the paperwork to an old address. I only found out when I checked my direct deposit and the math didn't add. I called payroll, called the court clerk, and opened a case with Legal Services of Greater Miami, but that review takes weeks I don't have. My water bill is $170 and the shutoff notice says the window closes before the end of the month. I've already pulled $60 off my nephew to cover the late fee and sold my circular saw. What I need is help covering the balance or a short-term loan until the garnishment gets modified or the objection goes through. Anything you can do, I will pay back on the 14th and 28th when the next deposits land, and I can show you the pay stubs and the notice itself to prove it's real. This is the last thing standing between my family and a dry tap.
