I worked with python for 10 years before I started mentoring. I also help with JavaScript. We start with your goals, then work through one real task together, such as a résumé rewrite or a mock interview. I work best with people who have been laid off and need structure. I volunteer some of my time for people on tight budgets. Evenings and weekends are easiest for me.
