UX Designer - research and testing (Virginia Beach, VA)

We are growing our team at Silverline Wren Arts Center and adding a UX Designer whose main responsibility will be research and testing. You would join a small organisation of about 23 people based in Virginia Beach. What you will do • Interview users and staff to understand where the current experience fails. • Audit screens for accessibility and readability. • Sketch, prototype and test new flows with real people. • Maintain a small design system of reusable components. • Design for tasks around volunteer programmes that people do under time pressure. What we are looking for • Care for plain language and accessibility. • Comfort with Figma or a similar tool. • Two or more years of UX or product design experience. • A portfolio showing your process, not only finished screens. Nice to have • Background in volunteer programmes. • Experience running usability tests. Working arrangement • Full-time, on a regular day shift. • On site in Virginia Beach, with some flexibility after the first few months. • Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis.
