UX Designer - research and testing (Toledo, OH)

We are growing our team at Harborlight Ember Financial and adding a UX Designer whose main responsibility will be research and testing. Career paths are clear. What you will do • Design for tasks around customer onboarding that people do under time pressure. • Maintain a small design system of reusable components. • Interview users and staff to understand where the current experience fails. • Work with developers so designs ship as intended. • Audit screens for accessibility and readability. What we are looking for • Care for plain language and accessibility. • Two or more years of UX or product design experience. • A portfolio showing your process, not only finished screens. • Comfort with Figma or a similar tool. Nice to have • Background in customer onboarding. • Experience running usability tests. Working arrangement • Part-time, about 24 hours a week, spread across three days. • On site in Toledo, with some flexibility after the first few months. • Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis.
