UX Designer - research and testing (Sacramento, CA)

Fernwood River Press is looking for a UX Designer. The job centres on research and testing for proofing, and it would suit someone who likes steady, practical work. You would join a small organisation of about 48 people based in Sacramento. What you will do • Maintain a small design system of reusable components. • Work with developers so designs ship as intended. • Design for tasks around proofing that people do under time pressure. • Sketch, prototype and test new flows with real people. • Interview users and staff to understand where the current experience fails. What we are looking for • Care for plain language and accessibility. • Comfort with Figma or a similar tool. • Two or more years of UX or product design experience. • A portfolio showing your process, not only finished screens. Nice to have • Experience running usability tests. • Background in proofing. Working arrangement • Part-time, about 28 hours a week, afternoons. • On site in Sacramento. • We will tell you what to expect at each step of the hiring process.
