UX Designer - research and testing (Richmond, VA)

Harborlight Timber Early Learning Group operates neighbourhood childcare around Richmond. We are hiring a UX Designer to take on research and testing. You would work closely with colleagues in operations, support and management. What you will do • Maintain a small design system of reusable components. • Work with developers so designs ship as intended. • Sketch, prototype and test new flows with real people. • Design for tasks around tuition and subsidies that people do under time pressure. • Interview users and staff to understand where the current experience fails. What we are looking for • Care for plain language and accessibility. • Two or more years of UX or product design experience. • A portfolio showing your process, not only finished screens. • Comfort with Figma or a similar tool. Nice to have • Background in tuition and subsidies. • Experience running usability tests. Working arrangement • Part-time, about 28 hours a week, spread across three days. • On site in Richmond. • Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis.
