UX Designer - research and testing (Richmond, VA)

Amberfield Ashton Transit Planning helps transport agencies around Richmond design routes and schedules, and we need a UX Designer to lead our research and testing. We like people who ride the bus and notice when things do not work. What you will do • Audit screens for accessibility and readability. • Design for tasks around route schedules that people do under time pressure. • Work with developers so designs ship as intended. • Interview users and staff to understand where the current experience fails. • Maintain a small design system of reusable components. What we are looking for • Care for plain language and accessibility. • Two or more years of UX or product design experience. • Comfort with Figma or a similar tool. • A portfolio showing your process, not only finished screens. Nice to have • Background in route schedules. • Experience running usability tests. Working arrangement • Full-time, on a regular day shift. • On site in Richmond. • We will tell you what to expect at each step of the hiring process.
