UX Designer - research and testing (remote)

Westbrook Orchard Arts Center is a cultural organisation in Chicago presenting exhibitions and performances, and we need a UX Designer to lead our research and testing. You would work closely with colleagues in operations, support and management. What you will do • Maintain a small design system of reusable components. • Work with developers so designs ship as intended. • Design for tasks around school partnerships that people do under time pressure. • Audit screens for accessibility and readability. • Interview users and staff to understand where the current experience fails. What we are looking for • Two or more years of UX or product design experience. • Comfort with Figma or a similar tool. • A portfolio showing your process, not only finished screens. • Care for plain language and accessibility. Nice to have • Background in school partnerships. • Experience running usability tests. Working arrangement • Part-time, about 16 hours a week, with flexible days. • Fully remote, with quarterly visits in Chicago. • We reply to every applicant.
