UX Designer - research and testing (remote)

Northwind Fox Press produces print and digital publications in Charlotte. We are hiring a UX Designer to take on research and testing. Many of us have been here for ten years or more. What you will do • Sketch, prototype and test new flows with real people. • Design for tasks around proofing that people do under time pressure. • Interview users and staff to understand where the current experience fails. • Work with developers so designs ship as intended. • Audit screens for accessibility and readability. What we are looking for • Two or more years of UX or product design experience. • A portfolio showing your process, not only finished screens. • Comfort with Figma or a similar tool. • Care for plain language and accessibility. Nice to have • Experience running usability tests. • Background in proofing. Working arrangement • Part-time, about 24 hours a week, spread across three days. • Fully remote, with an occasional day on site in Charlotte. • We reply to every applicant.
