UX Designer - research and testing (remote)

Fernwood Juniper Transit Planning Partners is a transit-planning firm in Anchorage working with agencies and riders. We are hiring a UX Designer to take on research and testing. You would join a small organisation of about 100 people, working mostly from home. What you will do • Sketch, prototype and test new flows with real people. • Design for tasks around fare systems that people do under time pressure. • Interview users and staff to understand where the current experience fails. • Audit screens for accessibility and readability. • Work with developers so designs ship as intended. What we are looking for • Care for plain language and accessibility. • A portfolio showing your process, not only finished screens. • Comfort with Figma or a similar tool. • Two or more years of UX or product design experience. Nice to have • Background in fare systems. • Experience running usability tests. Working arrangement • Part-time, about 24 hours a week, mornings. • Fully remote, with an occasional day on site in Anchorage. • Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis.
