UX Designer - research and testing (remote)

Fernwood Mill Transit Planning is a transit-planning firm in Baltimore working with agencies and riders. We are hiring a UX Designer to take on research and testing. We value plain explanations. What you will do • Work with developers so designs ship as intended. • Interview users and staff to understand where the current experience fails. • Sketch, prototype and test new flows with real people. • Audit screens for accessibility and readability. • Maintain a small design system of reusable components. What we are looking for • Care for plain language and accessibility. • Comfort with Figma or a similar tool. • A portfolio showing your process, not only finished screens. • Two or more years of UX or product design experience. Nice to have • Background in survey data. • Experience running usability tests. Working arrangement • Part-time, about 24 hours a week, mornings. • Fully remote, with a monthly team day in Baltimore. • We will tell you what to expect at each step of the hiring process.
