UX Designer - research and testing (Oakland, CA)

Harborlight Keystone Transit Planning helps transport agencies around Oakland design routes and schedules, and we need a UX Designer to lead our research and testing. We like people who ride the bus and notice when things do not work. What you will do • Interview users and staff to understand where the current experience fails. • Audit screens for accessibility and readability. • Design for tasks around accessibility audits that people do under time pressure. • Sketch, prototype and test new flows with real people. • Maintain a small design system of reusable components. What we are looking for • Comfort with Figma or a similar tool. • A portfolio showing your process, not only finished screens. • Care for plain language and accessibility. • Two or more years of UX or product design experience. Nice to have • Experience running usability tests. • Background in accessibility audits. Working arrangement • Part-time, about 16 hours a week, with flexible days. • On site in Oakland, with some flexibility after the first few months. • We reply to every applicant.
