UX Designer - research and testing (Oakland, CA)

Bluepeak Timber Learning Group runs classrooms and tutoring across the Oakland area, and we need a UX Designer to lead our research and testing. You would join a large organisation of more than 1,000 people based in Oakland. What you will do • Sketch, prototype and test new flows with real people. • Audit screens for accessibility and readability. • Work with developers so designs ship as intended. • Design for tasks around enrolment that people do under time pressure. • Maintain a small design system of reusable components. What we are looking for • Two or more years of UX or product design experience. • Care for plain language and accessibility. • A portfolio showing your process, not only finished screens. • Comfort with Figma or a similar tool. Nice to have • Experience running usability tests. • Background in enrolment. Working arrangement • Part-time, about 24 hours a week, with flexible days. • On site in Oakland, with some flexibility after the first few months. • We will tell you what to expect at each step of the hiring process.
