UX Designer - research and testing (New Orleans, LA)

Ironwood Birch Transit Planning is looking for a UX Designer. The job centres on research and testing for survey data, and it would suit someone who likes steady, practical work. You would join a large organisation of more than 1,000 people based in New Orleans. What you will do • Interview users and staff to understand where the current experience fails. • Sketch, prototype and test new flows with real people. • Work with developers so designs ship as intended. • Maintain a small design system of reusable components. • Audit screens for accessibility and readability. What we are looking for • Care for plain language and accessibility. • A portfolio showing your process, not only finished screens. • Comfort with Figma or a similar tool. • Two or more years of UX or product design experience. Nice to have • Experience running usability tests. • Background in survey data. Working arrangement • Contract for nine months, with a review at the end and a chance of extension. • On site in New Orleans. • Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis.
