UX Designer - research and testing (New Orleans, LA)

Lumen Union Arts Center runs a venue and education programmes in New Orleans. We are hiring a UX Designer to take on research and testing. Everyone pitches in on show days. What you will do • Maintain a small design system of reusable components. • Work with developers so designs ship as intended. • Design for tasks around visitor services that people do under time pressure. • Sketch, prototype and test new flows with real people. • Interview users and staff to understand where the current experience fails. What we are looking for • Comfort with Figma or a similar tool. • Two or more years of UX or product design experience. • Care for plain language and accessibility. • A portfolio showing your process, not only finished screens. Nice to have • Background in visitor services. • Experience running usability tests. Working arrangement • Contract for nine months, with the possibility of becoming permanent. • On site in New Orleans. • Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis.
