UX Designer - research and testing (Knoxville, TN)

Fernwood Umber Transit Planning is a transit-planning firm in Knoxville working with agencies and riders. We are hiring a UX Designer to take on research and testing. You would work closely with colleagues in operations, support and management. What you will do • Interview users and staff to understand where the current experience fails. • Work with developers so designs ship as intended. • Maintain a small design system of reusable components. • Audit screens for accessibility and readability. • Sketch, prototype and test new flows with real people. What we are looking for • Comfort with Figma or a similar tool. • Care for plain language and accessibility. • A portfolio showing your process, not only finished screens. • Two or more years of UX or product design experience. Nice to have • Experience running usability tests. • Background in ridership counts. Working arrangement • Full-time, on a regular day shift. • On site in Knoxville, with some flexibility after the first few months. • Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis.
