UX Designer - research and testing (Houston, TX)

Bright Stone Transit Planning · Houston, TX · part time

Bright Stone Transit Planning is looking for a UX Designer. The job centres on research and testing for ridership counts, and it would suit someone who likes steady, practical work. Work is collaborative and map-heavy. What you will do • Maintain a small design system of reusable components. • Audit screens for accessibility and readability. • Work with developers so designs ship as intended. • Interview users and staff to understand where the current experience fails. • Design for tasks around ridership counts that people do under time pressure. What we are looking for • Comfort with Figma or a similar tool. • A portfolio showing your process, not only finished screens. • Two or more years of UX or product design experience. • Care for plain language and accessibility. Nice to have • Experience running usability tests. • Background in ridership counts. Working arrangement • Part-time, about 16 hours a week, with flexible days. • On site in Houston, with some flexibility after the first few months. • Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis.
