UX Designer - research and testing (Hartford, CT)

We are growing our team at Amberfield Keystone Arts Center and adding a UX Designer whose main responsibility will be research and testing. You would work closely with colleagues in operations, support and management. What you will do • Design for tasks around visitor services that people do under time pressure. • Work with developers so designs ship as intended. • Interview users and staff to understand where the current experience fails. • Audit screens for accessibility and readability. • Sketch, prototype and test new flows with real people. What we are looking for • Two or more years of UX or product design experience. • Comfort with Figma or a similar tool. • Care for plain language and accessibility. • A portfolio showing your process, not only finished screens. Nice to have • Experience running usability tests. • Background in visitor services. Working arrangement • Part-time, about 28 hours a week, mornings. • On site in Hartford. • Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis.
