UX Designer - research and testing (Fresno, CA)

Cedar Birch Transit Planning is looking for a UX Designer. The job centres on research and testing for route schedules, and it would suit someone who likes steady, practical work. You would work closely with colleagues in operations, support and management. What you will do • Maintain a small design system of reusable components. • Design for tasks around route schedules that people do under time pressure. • Work with developers so designs ship as intended. • Interview users and staff to understand where the current experience fails. • Sketch, prototype and test new flows with real people. What we are looking for • A portfolio showing your process, not only finished screens. • Care for plain language and accessibility. • Two or more years of UX or product design experience. • Comfort with Figma or a similar tool. Nice to have • Experience running usability tests. • Background in route schedules. Working arrangement • Part-time, about 24 hours a week, with flexible days. • On site in Fresno, with some flexibility after the first few months. • Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis.
