UX Designer - research and testing (Detroit, MI)

Foxglove Willow Community Partners is a nonprofit in Detroit supporting families with food, housing and job help, and we need a UX Designer to lead our research and testing. Flexibility and kindness are expected. What you will do • Design for tasks around client intake that people do under time pressure. • Interview users and staff to understand where the current experience fails. • Sketch, prototype and test new flows with real people. • Maintain a small design system of reusable components. • Work with developers so designs ship as intended. What we are looking for • A portfolio showing your process, not only finished screens. • Two or more years of UX or product design experience. • Care for plain language and accessibility. • Comfort with Figma or a similar tool. Nice to have • Background in client intake. • Experience running usability tests. Working arrangement • Part-time, about 20 hours a week, mornings. • On site in Detroit. • Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis.
