UX Designer - research and testing (Des Moines, IA)

We are growing our team at Foxglove Beacon Community Partners and adding a UX Designer whose main responsibility will be research and testing. You would join a small organisation of about 17 people based in Des Moines. What you will do • Maintain a small design system of reusable components. • Design for tasks around food distribution that people do under time pressure. • Work with developers so designs ship as intended. • Audit screens for accessibility and readability. • Sketch, prototype and test new flows with real people. What we are looking for • Care for plain language and accessibility. • Comfort with Figma or a similar tool. • A portfolio showing your process, not only finished screens. • Two or more years of UX or product design experience. Nice to have • Background in food distribution. • Experience running usability tests. Working arrangement • Contract for three months, with clear deliverables from the first week. • On site in Des Moines, with some flexibility after the first few months. • Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis.
