UX Designer - research and testing (Chicago, IL)

We are growing our team at Foxglove Transit Planning and adding a UX Designer whose main responsibility will be research and testing. You would join a small organisation of about 19 people based in Chicago. What you will do • Interview users and staff to understand where the current experience fails. • Design for tasks around route schedules that people do under time pressure. • Audit screens for accessibility and readability. • Maintain a small design system of reusable components. • Sketch, prototype and test new flows with real people. What we are looking for • Comfort with Figma or a similar tool. • A portfolio showing your process, not only finished screens. • Care for plain language and accessibility. • Two or more years of UX or product design experience. Nice to have • Experience running usability tests. • Background in route schedules. Working arrangement • Part-time, about 16 hours a week, mornings. • On site in Chicago, with some flexibility after the first few months. • Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis.
