UX Designer - research and testing (Charlotte, NC)

Cedar Rook Community Partners is a Charlotte charity working with residents on basic needs and opportunity. We are hiring a UX Designer to take on research and testing. We are small enough to know everyone's name. What you will do • Audit screens for accessibility and readability. • Maintain a small design system of reusable components. • Sketch, prototype and test new flows with real people. • Work with developers so designs ship as intended. • Interview users and staff to understand where the current experience fails. What we are looking for • Comfort with Figma or a similar tool. • Two or more years of UX or product design experience. • Care for plain language and accessibility. • A portfolio showing your process, not only finished screens. Nice to have • Background in client intake. • Experience running usability tests. Working arrangement • Contract for nine months, with the possibility of becoming permanent. • On site in Charlotte. • Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis.
