UX Designer - research and testing (Birmingham, AL)

Clearpath Fern Transit Planning is a transit-planning firm in Birmingham working with agencies and riders, and we need a UX Designer to lead our research and testing. We value plain explanations. What you will do • Audit screens for accessibility and readability. • Work with developers so designs ship as intended. • Maintain a small design system of reusable components. • Sketch, prototype and test new flows with real people. • Design for tasks around survey data that people do under time pressure. What we are looking for • Two or more years of UX or product design experience. • A portfolio showing your process, not only finished screens. • Care for plain language and accessibility. • Comfort with Figma or a similar tool. Nice to have • Background in survey data. • Experience running usability tests. Working arrangement • Contract for twelve months, with the possibility of becoming permanent. • On site in Birmingham, with some flexibility after the first few months. • We will tell you what to expect at each step of the hiring process.
