UX Designer - mobile flows (San Jose, CA)

Harborlight Field Community Partners is a nonprofit in San Jose supporting families with food, housing and job help. We are hiring a UX Designer to take on mobile flows. Mission matters here, and so does looking after staff. What you will do • Design for tasks around volunteer shifts that people do under time pressure. • Maintain a small design system of reusable components. • Work with developers so designs ship as intended. • Sketch, prototype and test new flows with real people. • Audit screens for accessibility and readability. What we are looking for • Comfort with Figma or a similar tool. • Care for plain language and accessibility. • Two or more years of UX or product design experience. • A portfolio showing your process, not only finished screens. Nice to have • Experience running usability tests. • Background in volunteer shifts. Working arrangement • Contract for six months, with the possibility of becoming permanent. • On site in San Jose. • We will tell you what to expect at each step of the hiring process.
