UX Designer - mobile flows (Oakland, CA)

Amberfield Orchard Arts Center is looking for a UX Designer. The job centres on mobile flows for school partnerships, and it would suit someone who likes steady, practical work. You would work closely with colleagues in operations, support and management. What you will do • Audit screens for accessibility and readability. • Design for tasks around school partnerships that people do under time pressure. • Interview users and staff to understand where the current experience fails. • Maintain a small design system of reusable components. • Work with developers so designs ship as intended. What we are looking for • A portfolio showing your process, not only finished screens. • Care for plain language and accessibility. • Two or more years of UX or product design experience. • Comfort with Figma or a similar tool. Nice to have • Experience running usability tests. • Background in school partnerships. Working arrangement • Contract for nine months, with clear deliverables from the first week. • On site in Oakland. • Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis.
