UX Designer - design systems (San Jose, CA)

Bluepeak Ember Community Partners is a nonprofit in San Jose supporting families with food, housing and job help. We are hiring a UX Designer to take on design systems. Mission matters here, and so does looking after staff. What you will do • Maintain a small design system of reusable components. • Audit screens for accessibility and readability. • Sketch, prototype and test new flows with real people. • Design for tasks around donor records that people do under time pressure. • Work with developers so designs ship as intended. What we are looking for • Comfort with Figma or a similar tool. • A portfolio showing your process, not only finished screens. • Two or more years of UX or product design experience. • Care for plain language and accessibility. Nice to have • Background in donor records. • Experience running usability tests. Working arrangement • Contract for six months, with a review at the end and a chance of extension. • On site in San Jose. • We will tell you what to expect at each step of the hiring process.
