UX Designer - design systems (Richmond, VA)

We are growing our team at Nova Sable Insurance and adding a UX Designer whose main responsibility will be design systems. We care about how people feel on the worst day of their year. What you will do • Interview users and staff to understand where the current experience fails. • Audit screens for accessibility and readability. • Maintain a small design system of reusable components. • Design for tasks around claims that people do under time pressure. • Sketch, prototype and test new flows with real people. What we are looking for • Comfort with Figma or a similar tool. • Care for plain language and accessibility. • Two or more years of UX or product design experience. • A portfolio showing your process, not only finished screens. Nice to have • Background in claims. • Experience running usability tests. Working arrangement • Contract for eight months, with clear deliverables from the first week. • On site in Richmond, with some flexibility after the first few months. • Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis.
