UX Designer - design systems (remote)

Westbrook Orchard Arts Center is a cultural organisation in Chicago presenting exhibitions and performances. We are hiring a UX Designer to take on design systems. Everyone pitches in on show days. What you will do • Design for tasks around exhibitions that people do under time pressure. • Maintain a small design system of reusable components. • Interview users and staff to understand where the current experience fails. • Audit screens for accessibility and readability. • Sketch, prototype and test new flows with real people. What we are looking for • Two or more years of UX or product design experience. • Care for plain language and accessibility. • Comfort with Figma or a similar tool. • A portfolio showing your process, not only finished screens. Nice to have • Experience running usability tests. • Background in exhibitions. Working arrangement • Full-time, with a steady weekday schedule. • Remote-friendly, with quarterly visits in Chicago. • Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis.
