UX Designer - design systems (remote)

Fernwood Cobalt Community Partners runs community programmes across Des Moines, and we need a UX Designer to lead our design systems. Flexibility and kindness are expected. What you will do • Sketch, prototype and test new flows with real people. • Interview users and staff to understand where the current experience fails. • Audit screens for accessibility and readability. • Work with developers so designs ship as intended. • Design for tasks around volunteer shifts that people do under time pressure. What we are looking for • Comfort with Figma or a similar tool. • Care for plain language and accessibility. • Two or more years of UX or product design experience. • A portfolio showing your process, not only finished screens. Nice to have • Experience running usability tests. • Background in volunteer shifts. Working arrangement • Part-time, about 16 hours a week, with flexible days. • Fully remote, with an occasional day on site in Des Moines. • Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis.
