UX Designer - design systems (remote)

Fernwood Vale Community Partners is a nonprofit in Wichita supporting families with food, housing and job help, and we need a UX Designer to lead our design systems. We are small enough to know everyone's name. What you will do • Maintain a small design system of reusable components. • Design for tasks around donor records that people do under time pressure. • Sketch, prototype and test new flows with real people. • Audit screens for accessibility and readability. • Interview users and staff to understand where the current experience fails. What we are looking for • A portfolio showing your process, not only finished screens. • Care for plain language and accessibility. • Comfort with Figma or a similar tool. • Two or more years of UX or product design experience. Nice to have • Background in donor records. • Experience running usability tests. Working arrangement • Contract for eight months, with clear deliverables from the first week. • Remote-friendly, with a monthly team day in Wichita. • We will tell you what to expect at each step of the hiring process.
