UX Designer - design systems (remote)

We are growing our team at Ironwood Haven Learning Group and adding a UX Designer whose main responsibility will be design systems. You would join a small organisation of about 40 people, working mostly from home. What you will do • Design for tasks around school calendars that people do under time pressure. • Work with developers so designs ship as intended. • Audit screens for accessibility and readability. • Maintain a small design system of reusable components. • Interview users and staff to understand where the current experience fails. What we are looking for • Two or more years of UX or product design experience. • A portfolio showing your process, not only finished screens. • Care for plain language and accessibility. • Comfort with Figma or a similar tool. Nice to have • Background in school calendars. • Experience running usability tests. Working arrangement • Part-time, about 28 hours a week, afternoons. • Fully remote, with an occasional day on site in Birmingham. • We will tell you what to expect at each step of the hiring process.
