UX Designer - design systems (Portland, OR)

Westbrook Fern Transit Planning is a transit-planning firm in Portland working with agencies and riders, and we need a UX Designer to lead our design systems. You would work closely with colleagues in operations, support and management. What you will do • Work with developers so designs ship as intended. • Audit screens for accessibility and readability. • Sketch, prototype and test new flows with real people. • Maintain a small design system of reusable components. • Interview users and staff to understand where the current experience fails. What we are looking for • Two or more years of UX or product design experience. • A portfolio showing your process, not only finished screens. • Care for plain language and accessibility. • Comfort with Figma or a similar tool. Nice to have • Background in survey data. • Experience running usability tests. Working arrangement • Part-time, about 20 hours a week, afternoons. • On site in Portland, with some flexibility after the first few months. • Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis.
