UX Designer - design systems (Pittsburgh, PA)

Fernwood Orchard Transit Planning is looking for a UX Designer. The job centres on design systems for accessibility audits, and it would suit someone who likes steady, practical work. Work is collaborative and map-heavy. What you will do • Sketch, prototype and test new flows with real people. • Design for tasks around accessibility audits that people do under time pressure. • Interview users and staff to understand where the current experience fails. • Maintain a small design system of reusable components. • Audit screens for accessibility and readability. What we are looking for • Two or more years of UX or product design experience. • Comfort with Figma or a similar tool. • Care for plain language and accessibility. • A portfolio showing your process, not only finished screens. Nice to have • Experience running usability tests. • Background in accessibility audits. Working arrangement • Part-time, about 20 hours a week, afternoons. • On site in Pittsburgh. • Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis.
