UX Designer - design systems (Pittsburgh, PA)

Northwind Iron Press is looking for a UX Designer. The job centres on design systems for press runs, and it would suit someone who likes steady, practical work. You would join a large organisation of more than 1,000 people based in Pittsburgh. What you will do • Design for tasks around press runs that people do under time pressure. • Sketch, prototype and test new flows with real people. • Work with developers so designs ship as intended. • Maintain a small design system of reusable components. • Interview users and staff to understand where the current experience fails. What we are looking for • A portfolio showing your process, not only finished screens. • Care for plain language and accessibility. • Comfort with Figma or a similar tool. • Two or more years of UX or product design experience. Nice to have • Experience running usability tests. • Background in press runs. Working arrangement • Contract for four months, with clear deliverables from the first week. • On site in Pittsburgh. • We will tell you what to expect at each step of the hiring process.
