UX Designer - design systems (Oakland, CA)

We are growing our team at Redstone North Early Learning and adding a UX Designer whose main responsibility will be design systems. You would join a small organisation of about 148 people based in Oakland. What you will do • Design for tasks around enrolment that people do under time pressure. • Interview users and staff to understand where the current experience fails. • Work with developers so designs ship as intended. • Audit screens for accessibility and readability. • Maintain a small design system of reusable components. What we are looking for • Two or more years of UX or product design experience. • A portfolio showing your process, not only finished screens. • Comfort with Figma or a similar tool. • Care for plain language and accessibility. Nice to have • Background in enrolment. • Experience running usability tests. Working arrangement • Part-time, about 28 hours a week, spread across three days. • On site in Oakland, with some flexibility after the first few months. • Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis.
