UX Designer - design systems (Miami, FL)

Fernwood Labs runs community programmes across Miami. We are hiring a UX Designer to take on design systems. Mission matters here, and so does looking after staff. What you will do • Maintain a small design system of reusable components. • Design for tasks around food distribution that people do under time pressure. • Work with developers so designs ship as intended. • Interview users and staff to understand where the current experience fails. • Audit screens for accessibility and readability. What we are looking for • A portfolio showing your process, not only finished screens. • Care for plain language and accessibility. • Two or more years of UX or product design experience. • Comfort with Figma or a similar tool. Nice to have • Experience running usability tests. • Background in food distribution. Working arrangement • Part-time, about 24 hours a week, mornings. • On site in Miami, with some flexibility after the first few months. • Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis.
