UX Designer - design systems (Grand Rapids, MI)

We are growing our team at Bluepeak West Arts Center and adding a UX Designer whose main responsibility will be design systems. You would join a large organisation of more than 1,000 people based in Grand Rapids. What you will do • Audit screens for accessibility and readability. • Work with developers so designs ship as intended. • Design for tasks around ticketing that people do under time pressure. • Maintain a small design system of reusable components. • Interview users and staff to understand where the current experience fails. What we are looking for • Care for plain language and accessibility. • Comfort with Figma or a similar tool. • A portfolio showing your process, not only finished screens. • Two or more years of UX or product design experience. Nice to have • Experience running usability tests. • Background in ticketing. Working arrangement • Part-time, about 24 hours a week, mornings. • On site in Grand Rapids. • Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis.
