UX Designer - design systems (Detroit, MI)

Amberfield Iron Insurance is an insurance company in Detroit with claims and service teams, and we need a UX Designer to lead our design systems. You would work closely with colleagues in operations, support and management. What you will do • Interview users and staff to understand where the current experience fails. • Design for tasks around claims that people do under time pressure. • Sketch, prototype and test new flows with real people. • Maintain a small design system of reusable components. • Work with developers so designs ship as intended. What we are looking for • Comfort with Figma or a similar tool. • A portfolio showing your process, not only finished screens. • Two or more years of UX or product design experience. • Care for plain language and accessibility. Nice to have • Background in claims. • Experience running usability tests. Working arrangement • Contract for nine months, with clear deliverables from the first week. • On site in Detroit. • Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis.
