UX Designer - design systems (Detroit, MI)

We are growing our team at Lumen Maple Press Associates and adding a UX Designer whose main responsibility will be design systems. You would work closely with colleagues in operations, support and management. What you will do • Interview users and staff to understand where the current experience fails. • Work with developers so designs ship as intended. • Design for tasks around bindery work that people do under time pressure. • Sketch, prototype and test new flows with real people. • Maintain a small design system of reusable components. What we are looking for • Comfort with Figma or a similar tool. • Care for plain language and accessibility. • A portfolio showing your process, not only finished screens. • Two or more years of UX or product design experience. Nice to have • Background in bindery work. • Experience running usability tests. Working arrangement • Part-time, about 24 hours a week, with flexible days. • On site in Detroit. • We will tell you what to expect at each step of the hiring process.
