UX Designer - design systems (Detroit, MI)

We are growing our team at Harborlight Pike Learning Group and adding a UX Designer whose main responsibility will be design systems. We follow the school calendar and we like people who like learning. What you will do • Maintain a small design system of reusable components. • Interview users and staff to understand where the current experience fails. • Audit screens for accessibility and readability. • Work with developers so designs ship as intended. • Design for tasks around enrolment that people do under time pressure. What we are looking for • A portfolio showing your process, not only finished screens. • Comfort with Figma or a similar tool. • Two or more years of UX or product design experience. • Care for plain language and accessibility. Nice to have • Experience running usability tests. • Background in enrolment. Working arrangement • Contract for six months, with a review at the end and a chance of extension. • On site in Detroit. • Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis.
