UX Designer - design systems (Des Moines, IA)

Nova Rook Press is looking for a UX Designer. The job centres on design systems for press runs, and it would suit someone who likes steady, practical work. Many of us have been here for ten years or more. What you will do • Sketch, prototype and test new flows with real people. • Design for tasks around press runs that people do under time pressure. • Interview users and staff to understand where the current experience fails. • Maintain a small design system of reusable components. • Work with developers so designs ship as intended. What we are looking for • Comfort with Figma or a similar tool. • A portfolio showing your process, not only finished screens. • Care for plain language and accessibility. • Two or more years of UX or product design experience. Nice to have • Experience running usability tests. • Background in press runs. Working arrangement • Contract for twelve months, with a review at the end and a chance of extension. • On site in Des Moines, with some flexibility after the first few months. • We reply to every applicant.
