UX Designer - design systems (Charlotte, NC)

Fernwood Wren Transit Planning is a transit-planning firm in Charlotte working with agencies and riders, and we need a UX Designer to lead our design systems. You would work closely with colleagues in operations, support and management. What you will do • Work with developers so designs ship as intended. • Audit screens for accessibility and readability. • Sketch, prototype and test new flows with real people. • Interview users and staff to understand where the current experience fails. • Design for tasks around survey data that people do under time pressure. What we are looking for • Two or more years of UX or product design experience. • Comfort with Figma or a similar tool. • Care for plain language and accessibility. • A portfolio showing your process, not only finished screens. Nice to have • Background in survey data. • Experience running usability tests. Working arrangement • Part-time, about 28 hours a week, with flexible days. • On site in Charlotte. • Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis.
