UX Designer - design systems (Boston, MA)

Northwind Arts Center is a cultural organisation in Boston presenting exhibitions and performances. We are hiring a UX Designer to take on design systems. Everyone pitches in on show days. What you will do • Interview users and staff to understand where the current experience fails. • Design for tasks around volunteer programmes that people do under time pressure. • Work with developers so designs ship as intended. • Sketch, prototype and test new flows with real people. • Maintain a small design system of reusable components. What we are looking for • Comfort with Figma or a similar tool. • Two or more years of UX or product design experience. • A portfolio showing your process, not only finished screens. • Care for plain language and accessibility. Nice to have • Experience running usability tests. • Background in volunteer programmes. Working arrangement • Part-time, about 16 hours a week, mornings. • On site in Boston. • We will tell you what to expect at each step of the hiring process.
