UX Designer - design systems (Birmingham, AL)

Lumen North Learning Group is looking for a UX Designer. The job centres on design systems for family communication, and it would suit someone who likes steady, practical work. You would work closely with colleagues in operations, support and management. What you will do • Audit screens for accessibility and readability. • Work with developers so designs ship as intended. • Maintain a small design system of reusable components. • Interview users and staff to understand where the current experience fails. • Sketch, prototype and test new flows with real people. What we are looking for • Care for plain language and accessibility. • Two or more years of UX or product design experience. • A portfolio showing your process, not only finished screens. • Comfort with Figma or a similar tool. Nice to have • Background in family communication. • Experience running usability tests. Working arrangement • Contract for six months, with a review at the end and a chance of extension. • On site in Birmingham, with some flexibility after the first few months. • Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis.
