UX Designer - design systems (Birmingham, AL)

Redstone Hollow Arts Center is looking for a UX Designer. The job centres on design systems for volunteer programmes, and it would suit someone who likes steady, practical work. Evenings and weekends are part of the job. What you will do • Design for tasks around volunteer programmes that people do under time pressure. • Interview users and staff to understand where the current experience fails. • Sketch, prototype and test new flows with real people. • Audit screens for accessibility and readability. • Maintain a small design system of reusable components. What we are looking for • Comfort with Figma or a similar tool. • Care for plain language and accessibility. • A portfolio showing your process, not only finished screens. • Two or more years of UX or product design experience. Nice to have • Background in volunteer programmes. • Experience running usability tests. Working arrangement • Contract for four months, with the possibility of becoming permanent. • On site in Birmingham. • We reply to every applicant.
