UX Designer - design systems (Austin, TX)

Fernwood Cross Transit Planning is looking for a UX Designer. The job centres on design systems for route schedules, and it would suit someone who likes steady, practical work. We value plain explanations. What you will do • Work with developers so designs ship as intended. • Design for tasks around route schedules that people do under time pressure. • Sketch, prototype and test new flows with real people. • Maintain a small design system of reusable components. • Audit screens for accessibility and readability. What we are looking for • Two or more years of UX or product design experience. • Care for plain language and accessibility. • A portfolio showing your process, not only finished screens. • Comfort with Figma or a similar tool. Nice to have • Experience running usability tests. • Background in route schedules. Working arrangement • Part-time, about 24 hours a week, spread across three days. • On site in Austin, with some flexibility after the first few months. • We reply to every applicant.
