UX Designer - content design (Virginia Beach, VA)

Greenridge Mill Transit Planning plans bus and rail service for cities around Virginia Beach, and we need a UX Designer to lead our content design. We value plain explanations. What you will do • Interview users and staff to understand where the current experience fails. • Work with developers so designs ship as intended. • Sketch, prototype and test new flows with real people. • Maintain a small design system of reusable components. • Design for tasks around service alerts that people do under time pressure. What we are looking for • A portfolio showing your process, not only finished screens. • Comfort with Figma or a similar tool. • Two or more years of UX or product design experience. • Care for plain language and accessibility. Nice to have • Background in service alerts. • Experience running usability tests. Working arrangement • Part-time, about 20 hours a week, spread across three days. • On site in Virginia Beach, with some flexibility after the first few months. • Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis.
