UX Designer - content design (San Diego, CA)

Foxglove Bright Press prints books, catalogues and packaging from its San Diego plant, and we need a UX Designer to lead our content design. Many of us have been here for ten years or more. What you will do • Work with developers so designs ship as intended. • Maintain a small design system of reusable components. • Audit screens for accessibility and readability. • Interview users and staff to understand where the current experience fails. • Design for tasks around proofing that people do under time pressure. What we are looking for • Two or more years of UX or product design experience. • A portfolio showing your process, not only finished screens. • Comfort with Figma or a similar tool. • Care for plain language and accessibility. Nice to have • Background in proofing. • Experience running usability tests. Working arrangement • Contract for six months, with clear deliverables from the first week. • On site in San Diego. • Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis.
