UX Designer - content design (remote)

Westbrook Ember Markets is a San Jose retailer with stores, a distribution centre and online ordering, and we need a UX Designer to lead our content design. We are friendly and busy, especially on weekends. What you will do • Interview users and staff to understand where the current experience fails. • Maintain a small design system of reusable components. • Sketch, prototype and test new flows with real people. • Work with developers so designs ship as intended. • Design for tasks around shrink and waste that people do under time pressure. What we are looking for • Two or more years of UX or product design experience. • A portfolio showing your process, not only finished screens. • Comfort with Figma or a similar tool. • Care for plain language and accessibility. Nice to have • Background in shrink and waste. • Experience running usability tests. Working arrangement • Part-time, about 20 hours a week, mornings. • Remote-friendly, with a monthly team day in San Jose. • Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis.
